People have a shallow and incomplete idea of what PLEX is.
PLEX lets people who want to pvp and do some of the more expensive industrial activities without having to grind what they feel like is boring content. PLEX also lets people like me (who actually like doing PVe for it's own sake) supply those PVPrs and industrialists with something they really need (isk for their PLEXs).
Without plex, a WHOLE LOT of those pvp players who can't stand pve of any kind simply wouldn't be here. EVE isn't real life, it's an optional entertainment activity and people don't do things they find un-fun and "job like". So people like me do the grinding for them (in our underwear while drunk and while looking at.....images...on another screen that would get us fired where we to view them at work lol) and everyone is happy.
So why are you anti-plex people against happiness? |

It doesn't.
PLEX is one of the best aspects of the game. It gets ccp more revenue than they would get with just subs (becauseGTCs cost more than the equvilent amount of subbed game time).
It lets pvp players (who otherwise would not be here because they don't like pve at all) play the game AND contriute to the overall game by creating a (plex) market of PVE players.
It also lets cash strapped players who have a lot of time and don't mind doing PVE play the game that otherwise they would not play because they are cash strapped.
These people playing EVE that might not otherwise be here were it not for plex create boatloads of content for everyone.

That is presupposing that people don't do pve because it's bad. I don't think that's true, many people don't willingly do pve because they prefer to match themselves up against other players, not AI bots. For these people, not amount of changing pve is going to matter to them, they are still not going to pve if they can avoid it.
Sure, EVE's pve could be better and I'm a PVE player, but that has nothing to do with the issues being discussed about PLEX. |
